This top quality West German typewriter is one of the early SM8's off the production line, and was manufactured in 1965 at the Wilhelmshaven factory. The 'SM' models were made to a very fine standard and the SM9 and SM8 were the first with the re-designed "basket shift" mechanism, which gives a much lighter touch to the shift keys. This machine has a lovely clear standard elite typeface giving you 12 characters to the inch and is supplied with it’s original good quality carry case, and a copy of user instructions. A superb quality portable in excellent original condition.
